Why not? If you've got the room, go for it. Actually, most have made it through in great condition. I think "First Classs" or possibly a kind postal worker is more important. I have some great stories of post office folks going "above and beyond" for this.

I told my kids one or the other, and just one time. That way all of ours are consistent. Other than that I don't think it really matters too much.
